Erin Strawn is an expert in the appropriations process, and earned significant experience in education and healthcare during eight years of service on Capitol Hill. Erin uses her appropriations process expertise and her knowledge of healthcare, education and workforce issues guide the Stanton Park Group’s clients through the annual spending bills.
Prior to joining the Stanton Park Group, Erin served as an Associate to the Labor, Health and Education Appropriations Subcommittee. Erin was integral in planning and implementing the legislative priorities in the largest domestic spending bill and worked closely with the Subcommittee staff to ensure that the priorities of its Members were reflected in the final spending bill. Erin played a leadership role in oversight activities, with an emphasis on assisting patient advocacy groups in working with the National Institutes of Health and the Centers for Disease Control.
Erin successfully shepherded several legislative initiatives through the appropriations process, including provisions to provide workforce training to military spouses, to protect competition in the federal student loan programs, and to provide a quality education to military children whose parents are deployed or killed in combat. Erin is experienced in building
coalition support for programs in the Appropriations process, and has special expertise in utilizing the Appropriations process to provide oversight of federal agencies.
Erin also served as a key advisor to a senior Member of the House Armed Services Committee and the Homeland Security Committee. In this capacity, Erin implemented comprehensive legislative strategies for initiatives in healthcare, foreign affairs, tax, housing and transportation.
Erin graduated from the Georgetown University School of Business with a Bachelor of Science in Finance.
